Application and Registration Process for Class 11

Now that the Class 10 results have been announced, the application and registration process for class 11 will undergo a slight change. Parents should first submit the Student Application Form (available below), along with a copy of the result sheet. No fees will be levied at this stage.

Upon receiving the form and result sheet, we will try to make a quick determination as to whether a seat can be granted immediately. The yardstick we will use is this: The closer the average percent is to the government determined cut-off, the more easily we will be able to grant immediate admission. Conversely, the lower the score, the more likely we are to hold off on granting a seat. There will thus be no clearly set cut-off point for Pelkhil as it will depend greatly on the general trend in marks obtained by applicants.

For commerce applicants we will use the English + four best subject scores to compare marks. For science applicants we will use your Math + Science scores as an additional metric. As you would note, these are the standard government adopted yardsticks. Again, the higher your score, the better your chances of acceptance. The scores of other applicants would also be a factor: the higher the average, the more picky we are likely to be, especially since our goal is to be a very high quality educational institution. We will accept low scoring students reluctantly!

If a seat is granted you will be informed immediately, upon which you should then complete the registration process (see next section below), including the payment of the non-refundable registration fee of Nu. 1,200, in order to secure the seat. We will do our best to make quick admission decisions in order to allow you to consider your alternative options.

Please note that students who registered before February 12, 2010 are not subject to this cut off process - your seat remains confirmed regardless of your marks!

Student Registration

Our registration process for the academic year 2010 for classes 5 through 11 remains open. While the enrollment process for class 11 is governed by the process described above, the process for all other classes continues as before, as described here. Parents may note that we will be accepting only about 300 students for 2010, with plans to go to full capacity enrollment of about 600 students only in 2011 - so the number of seats will be limited. Also, the actual break up of the classes that we will conduct, as well as the numbers of sections per class, will be based on the response to the registration process.

Parents are thus encouraged to register as early as possible as this will help us determine the optimal class combinations as well as increase the likelihood of having the classes and numbers of sections per class that best suit your needs.

The form for registration can be downloaded from the link below. Queries may be directed by email to admissions [ at ] pelkhil.edu.bt. Please be sure to fill the registration form completely and provide the required documentation for your child. Please also note that there will be a one time non-refundable registration fee of Nu. 1,200.

For your convenience, you can submit the completed registration forms and fees at the Better Products office, Changzamtog Service Center (on the STCB level). Please ask for Mr. Ugen Dorji (M: 1770-2984), our PE Instructor, who will be available during work hours.
